Sports Oakville Beaver So far, the highly-anticipated OHL playoff showdown between the Donati twins has been a stalemate. Justin's Sudbury Wolves and Tyler's Belleville Bulls are tied 2-2 in their Eastern Conference championship series, entering tonight's Game 5 in Belleville. Tyler had four assists in the first three games of the series, helping the Bulls take a 2-1 lead. However, Justin responded in Game 4 Monday, tallying twice -- including the overtime game-winner -- in a 3-2 Sudbury triumph. Zack Shepley and the Plymouth Whalers opened that series with three decisive victories over the London Knights, and had an opportunity to sweep the series last night in Plymouth. Shepley, a defenceman, was named the third star in Game 2, a 5-1 Plymouth win. The Whalers also won the opener by a 5-1 score and then took a stranglehold on the series with a 5-2 win Monday in London. The Knights feature two Oakville players of their own, Steve Mason and Sam Gagner. Lookin' Killer FOR THE KIDS: Former Toronto Maple Leafs star centre Doug Gilmour has a laugh during last weekend's Steve Thomas and Friends Celebrity Hockey Game, which kicked off the Dominion's Charity Cup tournament at Dominion Twin Rinks. Gilmour was joined by such former NHLers as Steve Thomas, Wendel Clark, Stew Gavin and Ric Nattress, as well as local native Mike Vanderjagt, formerly a place-kicker with the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys. Proceeds from the event went towards Growing Great Kids, A&P/Dominion's charitable program. The three-day tournament raised $25,000. BARRIE ERSKINE / OAKVILLE BEAVER Cann, u18 team finish fourth Oakville's Trevor Cann and his Canadian teammates had to settle for fourth place at the World Under18 Hockey Championships in Finland. Sweden broke a 2-2 tie with one second to play in the second period of the bronze-medal game on its way to an 8-3 win. Cann allowed the first six goals as Sweden outshot Canada 57-28. Canada was edged 4-3 by the United States in Friday's semifinal. Cann made 41 saves through regulation and overtime. Cann was named one of the Canada's top three players in the tournament following Sunday's game. He finished the tournament with a 3-2 record, a 2.63 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.
