On May 9, McDonald's Restaurants in Oakville will join more than 1,350 McDonald's Restaurants across the country to celebrate the 15th annual McHappy Day. On this day, one dollar from any McMuffin Sandwich, Big Mac® and Happy Meal® sold will benefit local children's charities across the country. In Oakville, all funds raised will be donated to Dog Guides Canada. The McHappy Day Convoy will be a procession of Halton Regional Police motorcycle officers, members of the OPP Golden Helmets Precision Motorcycle Team, a Halton Regional Police Cruiser with Chief Gary Crowell, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino in a traditional OPP "Black and White", Dog Guides Canada, Oakville Fire Department Pump 8 and ladder truck, Halton Regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with mascot Siren, Halton and OPP canine Units with bomb dog "Blast" and search and rescue dog "Baron", and HRPS PT Cruiser with mascot McGruff. Totaling 20 vehicles in all, the convoy will start at Bronte McDonald's at 11 a.m., traveling through Oakville stopping at each restaurant.
