The hopefuls were elected unanimously by existing trustees during a board meeting last Tuesday. Erin Gamble, a Grade 11 student at Holy Trinity Secondary School, will replace Jaclyn Peluso as Oakville student trustee. Gamble has maintained a high academic standing and is the winner of numerous awards including this year's `Sharing the Spirit' award at her school. Teanna Lobo, a Grade 11 student at Notre Dame Secondary School, will replace Ryan Durran as Burlington student trustee. Kelly Medeiros, a Grade 11 student at Bishop Reding Secondary School, will replace Heather MacKinnon as North Halton student trustee. These students will take on the responsibility of representing the interests of over 9,000 students attending Halton's Catholic Secondary Schools. Their duties will include attending board meetings including in camera meetings, which are closed to the public.
