www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver Weekend, Saturday May 5, 2007 - 27 Cruise for a cause Cruisin' for a Cause, the third annual Food for Life Car Rally will be held Sunday at Lockwood Motors in Oakville. If you're overdue for an adventure, fuel up the car and hit the road. Spend an afternoon helping those in need in Halton by raising funds and awareness for Food for Life Canada. Load up your favourite road crew and enjoy a skill-testing, exhilarating drive through Halton's back roads. Decipher clues, search for landmarks, compete for prizes along the route and enjoy the views. A $100 entry fee per car or a minimum of $200 in pledges sends you on the ride and puts you in the running to win prizes. All monies raised will support the Food for Life program. It's a not-for-profit organization that collects perishable foods otherwise headed for landfills and distributes them on a daily basis to over 3,000 of Halton's working-poor, community outreach programs and other charitable organizations. Food for Life is a registered charity and is supported by United Way of Oakville and the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the race after all points have been tallied. Stick around for great appetizers, a silent auction and raffle. Lockwood Motors is located at 175 Wyecroft Rd. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the adventure will wrap up in downtown Burlington. Registration forms can be obtained at www.foodforlife.ca.
