www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver Weekend, Saturday May 12, 2007 - 17 Convenience store robbed A local convenience store was robbed Thursday night by a man carrying a handgun, say Halton Regional Police. No one was injured during the incident. Police report a man, traveling alone, entered the Upper Middle Convenience store on Queensbury Crescent just after 10 p.m. and demanded cash from the store clerk. At this point, police say the clerk noticed the suspect had a handgun on him. The clerk was told to put money from the cash register into a bag, and the suspect then fled the store on foot. Uninjured during the robbery, the clerk then called police. Oakville patrol officers responded along with the canine unit and the criminal investigation bureau. The suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, dark glasses and gloves. He also had a black covering over the bottom part of his face. He is described as approximately five-feet, 10-inches tall with a slim build and deep voice.
