PHOTOS BY BARRIE ERSKINE / OAKVILLE BEAVER Montclair wins Everett senior boys' title Led by two event victories by Steven Williams, Montclair Senior School claimed the senior boys' pennant at the Halton District School Board's Everett elementary school track-and-field meet, held Wednesday in Burlington. Williams won both the 200-metre and long jump competitions. Teammates Jake Cussen (100m) and Stephen Boyko (400m) also won events for Montclair, with Nicholas Montte contributing a third-place finish in the 800m run. Montclair finished fourth overall amongst the eight schools that participated in the meet, which was for the second-largest schools in the region. Falgarwood finished fifth and Post's Corners placed sixth. Other individual event winners for Montclair included Melissa Silliphant (intermediate girls' 400m and 800m), Marni Oldershaw (intermediate girls' 1,500m) and Charlie Glassman (junior girls' 100m). Falgarwood winners were Maddie Warner (junior girls' 800m and high jump), Jenny Wilson (intermediate girls' shot put) and Rhianna Mehta (senior girls' high jump). The school also won the senior boys' relay. Tom Bailey (senior boys' triple jump), Telvi Smith (senior girls' shot put), Aimee Colenutt (senior girls' 100m), Greg Prescod (intermediate boys' shot put) and Kristine Smith (intermediate girls' high jump) won individual gold for Post's Corners, while the school's intermediate boys' relay team was also victorious. The Everett meet was the second of five the Halton District School Board is conducting this month. The Ortwein meet, for the largest-sized schools in Halton, was held Monday and the Wallace competition (middle-sized schools) took place yesterday. Tom Bailey (PC). E.J. James claims three pennants in Ortwein championship Stellar overall performances by its senior girls, senior boys and intermediate girls enabled E.J. James Public School to finish first at the Halton District School Board's Ortwein elementary track-and-field meet, held Monday in Burlington. E.J. James won pennants in all three of those divisions, while placing third in junior girls' and fourth in both junior boys' and intermediate boys' competition. Amongst the individual E.J. James highlights were the showings of Claire Droniuk, who won the intermediate girls' 100-metre and 200m races as well as the long jump, and Evan Carr-Hall, who finished first in the senior boys' 100m, 200m and 400m races. Alyssa Bull (junior girls' 800m and 1,500m), Alex Sagl (junior girls' shot put), Spencer Lee (intermediate boys' 400m), Jessica Henry (senior girls' long jump), Cheries Cobb (senior girls' high jump), Brittany Shales (senior girls' triple jump) and Aaron Jervis (senior boys' long jump and triple jump) were the other E.J.
