Last year, more than 4,000 kids read more than 27,000 books. This time, we'll be travelling through time, looking for hidden treasure, and discovering pirates, archeologists, warriors and dinosaurs. Dig it? Starting Friday, June 29, (or any day thereafter), visit your local library branch to sign up for the program, pick up your log book and last, but most important, let your summer adventures begin. As you read your way through ancient civilizations, lost worlds, battle Vikings, warriors and pirates you'll need to return to the library three times between July 9 and Aug. 20 to report your reading accomplishments and to receive awesome rewards and prizes. There will be fun programs to attend throughout the summer at each branch and a special party in August to celebrate the reading success of everyone who completes the program. Be a star reader this summer with the Oakville Public Library! The club promotes the fun Drop-in at the Woodside Branch from 10 a.m.-noon. · Monday, July 30: Indiana Jones Drop-in at the White Oaks Branch from 10 a.m.-noon. · Wednesday, Aug. 15: Dinosaurs Drop-in at the Glen Abbey Branch from 24 p.m. · Monday, Aug. 20: Last day for reporting. of reading to young people and also encourages them visit the library during the summer. The volunteers will encourage the children to read and partic- ipate in the Summer Reading Program, assist with drop-in activities and games, and gain great experience for your future.
