"The OTMH Classic has become an For most people, Father's Day is a time for celebration and a time for showing a beloved parent exactly how much he means to you. However, for an Oakville family, Father's Day weekend now marks a tragic anniversary. For the family of Doug Stewart, the day prior to Father's Day will forever be the day their devoted dad and husband died and the day their sister began her fight for life. Last Saturday evening (June 16) Stewart, 50, was driving his 2002 Saturn along the eastbound lane of Hwy. 7. He had been visiting his parents in Stratford, Ont. His 11-year-old daughter Emily was at his side. About eight kilometres east of Shakespeare, a car coming the other way suddenly veered into Stewart's lane, in an apparent attempt to pass another westbound vehicle. It resulted in a head-on crash in which both Stewart and the other driver, Jeremy Crinklaw, 30, of Stratford, were killed.
