Along with all her neighbours and friends, including one of her best friends, Carrie Olver, who happens to be a morning host on The Weather Network. "It makes me weepy, it's been really wonderful," said the 48-yearold West Oak Trails resident speaking, not of her recent diagnosis of breast cancer, but the support of friends and neighbours in town. That support will manifest itself yet again this Saturday, June 30 with a fundraiser to be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Price Chopper at Third Line and Dundas Street. "I'd rather not be going through this. It's been fairly fast and fairly scary," said Hall who was diagnosed with breast cancer in April. However she is not alone -- not by a long shot if Oakville has anything to do with it. It's not just the challenge of a cancer diagnosis and ensuing surgery and treatment with which Hall is coping. She is a single mom raising two teenaged boys, makes her living on commission alone and her health coverage isn't what she thought it would be. as an independent sort who is used to working hard, being self-sufficient and taking care of herself.
