These beaches have acceptable levels of bacteria according to beach water samples taken on Tuesday. Tests are conducted weekly or if conditions change on recreational water throughout Halton. Beaches are chosen based on use for swimming and other water sports. Other beaches in the area that have been cleared for swimming include Burlington's The Beachway North and The Beachway South, and Milton's Kelso Conservation Area. Halton Hills' Prospect Park Old Beach has high levels of bacteria and is unsafe for swimming, the region's Health Department said. Residents can call Halton Region to find out which beaches have been closed on account of poor water quality. Beach quality information is available 24 hours a day by calling 905-825-6000 or toll free at 1-866-4HALTON (1-866442-5866).
