Despite a unanimous vote, however, a number of town councillors are decidedly unenthusiastic about the plan. After describing the plan for the downtown Bronte site as "the wrong development in the wrong location," Ward 3 councillor Keith Bird said the reality of the situation has forced politicians to make the deal. "You hold your nose and vote for it," he said, with a degree of resignation. Veteran Bronte councillor Ralph Robinson offered a similarly unenthusiastic endorsement of the agreement, saying, "What's before us here this evening is not really the right thing for Bronte ­ it's not that good a deal.
