Enjoying an early success, owners Kevin McDermott and Rick Przybylski decided it was time to do something to show appreciation to their customers as well as give something back to the community. They created their annual Spring Charity Golf Classic. It was held this year at the Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville and the charity selected was Erinoak Kids. Erinoak Kids is the province's largest not-for-profit, fully accredited children's treatment centre that offers treatment, rehabilitation and support services to children with physical, developmental or communication disabilities so that these kids and their families can reach the best possible levels of independence, health and well-being. $175 included golfing the course in a cart, a substantial welcoming package, and drinks and a fabulous dinner that included appetizers, caesar salad and steak. It was fortuitous that the welcoming package included a classy long sleeved wind shirt as the skies turned gray and the wind got very cold. But at the end of the day the real winner was Erinoak Kids where fundraising activities play an essential role in enriching their service capacity and allowing them to undertake new initiatives on behalf of the young people and their families. The Stout Monk would like to gratefully acknowledge the generous support of community friends and our customers, whose contributions, both large and small, are valued and very much appreciated and as a result they were able to raise in excess of $11,000 for Erinoak Kids.
