Scorpions sting way into tourney final The Oakville Scorpions under-12 boys' select soccer team went 3-2 at the recent Burlington Youth Soccer Tournament, earning an appearance in the championship game. Oakville was denied the title with a 4-1 loss to the Erin Mills Eagles. Steven Jean gave the Scorpions an early lead in the gold-medal match, but the Eagles responded with four unanswered markers. Earlier in the tournament, Oakville defeated Erin Mills 1-0, hammered Lincoln 6-0 and lost 2-1 to Hamilton Mountain in roundrobin play. The Scorpions then edged Hamilton Mountain 3-2 in a semifinal rematch. Jean finished the competition with three goals, leading all Oakville goal-scorers. Spencer Marion and Connor White each scored twice. Adding singles were Simon Hatziioannou, Alex Dodds, Julian Kuntz, Erik Neefs, Oliver Kearns and Ben Dinadis.
