Officer Bruce Hasenbacher, a seven-year member of the HRPS' Tactical Team and currently Sunningdale's D.A.R.E. officer, accompanied officer Scott around the Sunningdale grounds and arrived at the same conclusion, which was that the temporary displacement of two small, annual gardens (vegetable and sunflower) paled in comparison to the risks presented to all affected parties should Dreamacres' preferred location be implemented. Ironically, Dreamacres' claim that everything it does is in the best interest of the children was blatantly absent when it fought long and hard to have the portables placed against neighbours' residential fences that would have been blind to every window in the school (no visual communication), adjacent to a narrow and unsupervised, shaded laneway and would have been a prime partying location for local teenagers. Ask your school custodian what they pick up each morning in the shadowed, hidden areas of our elementary schoolyards. Ms. Brooks feels the school board should be ashamed of itself for reasons that it "deemed this land necessary for portables." With the verifiable facts available as to how and where the portables came to be at Sunningdale, it is Ms. Brooks who should be ashamed of herself for writing a broad-based, mudsling of a letter.
