Angelika Uremovich, Tara Dawdy and Caroline Szwed are members of the National Training Centre Ontario squad that will play games against Umbria Select of Italy and Woodbridge Azzurri Soccer Club at The Ontario Soccer Centre. The Ontario team will play Woodbridge Sunday and Umbria Monday, while Umbria and Woodbridge will face each other Saturday. All games in the tourney, titled Kick 4 Four Oakville Soccer Club rep teams have reached the final round of this year's Ontario Cup playdowns. The under-12 girls' Hurricane, under-13 boys' Raiders, under-13 girls' Titans and under-15 boys' tier 2 Fusion each earned spots in the championship games of their respective divisions with wins in last weekend's semifinal round. Two other local squads -- the under-17 boys' tier 1 Blue Stars and the under-16 girls' Phantoms -- were eliminated on the weekend. The Hurricane needed overtime to defeat the Cumberland Cobras, 32 in Cambridge. Melissa Coulson had two goals and Kristina DeAndrade added a single for Oakville, which rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to tie the game shortly before halftime. Matthew Derrick-Huie scored with three minutes left in extra time in the under-13 boys' semifinal, giving the Raiders a 2-1 win over the Ottawa Capital United Mighty Blue in Ottawa. Karlo Bobinac had the other Oakville goal, tying the game late in regulation time. In the under-13 girls' semi, Nicole Waters scored at the 22-minute mark to provide the margin of victory in the Titans' 1-0 win over the host Clarkson Comets. The Fusion also recorded a shutout in its semifinal win, blanking Barrie Spirit A 2-0 in Cambridge. Rodrigo Alvarino and Krystian Bryla had the Fusion tallies. The Blue Stars nearly made it through to their championship game, but the Dixie Dominators tied the semifinal with a late goal and then outscored Oakville 5-4 in penalty kicks. Sandro Rajkovic had the lone goal for the Blue Stars during regulation time of the contest, played in Oshawa. Oakville's other semifinalist, the Phantoms, yielded an early goal against the London Supernova and couldn't recover in a 3-0 loss at Etobicoke's Centennial Stadium. Ontario Cup final contests will be played next month at The Soccer Centre in Vaughan. The Hurricane will face the Richmond Hill Raiders A on Sept. 9, while the Raiders will play the Dixie Lions and the Titans will meet the Newmarket United Lasers on Sept. 15. The following day, the Fusion will clash with the Welland Wizards. Four Ontario Cup finalist squads is an improvement on last year's showing for the Oakville Soccer Club, when only the Phantoms reached a title game (winning the under-15 crown). Oakville had three Ontario Cup champions in 2005. Cancer, are scheduled for 4 p.m. starts. Uremovich, Dawdy and Szwed are also members of the under-16 national team.
