The Sept. 7 concert will feature Bronte's own Eddie Panton, a guitarist, singer and songwriter. Funds raised at the show will go to the Oakville Arts Council (OAC). Kicking off at 8 p.m., the concert is for those who love rhumba, flamenco, Latin, jazz and pop. An active member of the Toronto songwriting community, Paton is a member of both SOCAN and the Songwriters Association of Canada. He is a versatile guitarist and singer who has been performing professionally for more than 15 years. Among his professional credits, Paton has been the rhythm guitarist for award winning flamenco artist Johannes Linstead, was musical director for DKD recording artist Slan, played on Robert Michaels' Juno-Award winning Warner album, ALLEGRO, and received an honorable mention in the pop category for the 2003 and 2001 Billboard song contests. His original song, Make Me Smile was featured in the independent Atel Sharma film The Edge. He recently finished co-writing and recording an instrumental album that fuses jazz, Latin and electronica elements, entitled Redux:RMx, which is available at cdbaby.com. Tickets to Latin-Jazz Night cost $20 and include all food and coffee, plus a cash bar. Proceeds from the evening benefit the Oakville Arts Council.
