On the other hand I have nagging doubts about the honesty of such statements coming from the parties that for decades were deaf to these issues. Global warming did not happen last Monday. So, are the policy makers of those parties sudden converts like Saint Paul on his way to Damascus or is this a group of Great Pretenders? It seems to me that what they offer is yet another two-for-one special. We are the sustainable friends of the environment, who will save you from the crisis if it comes ­ they say ­ but we will keep the system as it is, no real change necessary. Ted Chudleigh PC Twelve years ago I ran for office because I was appalled at the state to which Ontario had sunk. There were no job prospects for youth, our economy was ruined, and the government of the Ted Chudleigh day had no idea how to turn the ship of state around.
