According to Fareshare volunteer director Dudley Clarke, the drive is running short compared to previous years. It's the drive on which the food bank depends to collect much of the food that will be given to those in need throughout the year. Donations to the drive, which continues to Sunday, Oct. 14, in the form of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the food bank -- 1240 Speers Rd., Unit 6 -- between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. today (Saturday); at all Oakville fire stations; in all local supermarkets in bins provided by Fareshare and in the paper food drive bags being handed out at the Real Canadian Superstore. May Win Myint was elected to the Burmese parliament, but, instead of being allowed to take her seat, she was imprisoned; and for the last 10 years, she has been kept in jail.
