After all, Empty Bowls was an inaugural attempt for the charitable organization, which works to create innovative solutions to local homelessness. After Sunday's turn-out, Empty Bowls may well become an annual event. Home Suite Hope raised more than $42,000 after expenses ­ and the money hasn't stopped rolling in. "It's amazing," Perkins told The Oakville Beaver yesterday. "And there's still donations coming in. I went to the mailbox this morning and there were two more there." Empty Bowls saw everyone from school children to professional potters make bowls for the event, held at Appleby College. A $50 ticket gave purchasers a bowl of their choice along with soup and bread served by local restaurants and caterers.
