United Way of Oakville's Training and Consulting Services offers staff and volunteers of the non profit sector courses and workshops to help respond to these emerging social and economic trends. Each spring and fall, UWO offers the roadmap to success workshop series. These workshops are facilitated by industry leaders and cover all aspects of non profit agency operations. This month, United Way of Oakville expanded its current Training and Consulting Services to include professional and personal development courses offered online via e-Learning. E-Learning is self-paced internet learning from the office or home at any time of day. Convenience and affordability are the main advantages of this type of learning. UWO's online learning program was sponsored by Cogeco Cable Inc. Vubiz, a Canadian e-Learning company, which developed the content specific to the needs of the non-profit sector. More than 80 professional development and personal development modules are available over the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Learners can choose from courses in management and team building, communications and presentations, human resources management, marketing and many more. Membership to United Way of Oakville's eLearning program costs $50 and provides staff and volunteers of the non-profit sector with a full-year of access to more than 80 professional and personal development modules. The Regional Municipality of Halton Business Development Centre Halton Region's Business Development Centre, in partnership with Halton Hills Public Library, is offering a seminar series for new entrepreneurs called Essentials of Entrepreneurship.
