Jackson eloquently describes giving in three ways: your time, your talent, and/or your treasure. As the current Chair of the CFO, Jackson practices what he preaches. Six years ago, at the prompting of Adrian Coote, now a former Chair of the CFO, Jackson established an endowed fund, then joined the board and has continued to serve ever since. Not only has he given of his time but also, as someone who worked in the same financial institution for more than 30 years, Jackson has been able to provide excellent direction on committees such as the CFO's finance committee. When it comes to treasures, Jackson is thrilled that he, along with his wife, Bonnie, was able to set up a family foundation with the CFO. The couple enjoy watching where, when and how their funds are helping others in the community now, rather than simply leaving money to an organization when they are gone. "It is about leaving a legacy for our three adult daughters who will eventually be in charge of managing the funds. It sets a good example for our family," Jackson said. Jackson's passion for getting involved with causes began 30 years ago when his young daughter was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. He still continues to help find a cure for diabetes by chairing the annual gala in Toronto next month where their goal is to raise a million dollars.
