Aboud, a goalkeeper for Bishop's University Gaiters, played in all 14 of the Gaiters' games this season. The fourth-year social sciences student was a bright spot on a Bishop's team that struggled to a 1-9-3 record. She was named game MVP on three occasions, including a 12-save shutout in September against the McGill Martlets, who lost only once this season, as the teams played to a scoreless draw. She also starred in a victory over the UQTR Patriotes. Gaiters' head coach Darren Matthews said Aboud "is the consummate leader on and off the field and her presence next season will be sorely missed." Aboud has been the Gaiters' team captain for three season and is also a member of the Bishop's Student Athletic Committee. Aboud also left a mark on her teammates. "She has been captain since I've been here, and she is an amazing leader," said third-year midfielder Lauren Proudfoot. "She always keeps the team pumped up, and because of her, the team has stayed together." "She is always the most positive person on the field," added third-year midfielder Cheilidh MacNeil.
