Bishop herself has adopted St. Mary's Basic School in the small town of Above Rocks, situated about 10 miles northwest of Jamaica's capital of Kingston. Her $365 annual donation supports the education of about 65 students, who coincidentally attend the school where her great grand-aunt was principal. Her great grand aunt's sister donated the land for the school. Moosai-Maharaj said people can also contribute to the School Fund for $100. That allows Sangster's, a well-known book store in Jamaica, to put together a package of books to be sent to a school. P.A.C.E. Canada is also at work attempting to fund more of the successful Tech de Bus, a school bus equipped with computers and a teacher's station that travels school to school around Jamaica to teach computer skills. "There are a lot of good things we're trying to do for children who don't have the means, and the results are good, they are getting scholarships to schools in Jamaica and elsewhere, including here," said Moosai-Maharaj.
