STA grads star on gridiron Aquinas graduates Steve Turner and Dante Luciani were named to the Ontario University Athletics football all-star team. Turner was named to the first team as a kick returner. In seven games with the Laurier Golden Hawks, Turner racked up 530 return yards. He averaged more than 25 yards per kick return and more than 12 yards on punt returns, including a season-long 62-yard return. The third-year Hawk also had 20 carries for 157 yards as a running back, scoring two TDs. Luciani was named to the second team. The fourth-year receiver had seven touchdown catches, third most in the OUA and fourth nation-wide among receivers. He gained 345 yards on 32 catches in eight games for Laurier. He added another touchdown on a 57-yard punt return. He gained 234 yards on 18 returns on the season. Laurier finished second in the OUA with a 7-1 record before being upset by Guelph 38-31 in the semifinals.
