From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the church located at Lakeshore Road and Dunn Street will offer shopping, entertainment and a luncheon -- all to raise funds for needy families in Oakville. At Knox's HollyBerry MarketPlace you can find one-of-a-kind crafts, decorative Christmas crackers, and gift baskets. Arrive early and choose a selection of treats from the bake table. Cookies, pies, loaves, cakes, candy, preserves and more will be on sale. The popular HollyBerry luncheon will feature a choice of potato chowder soup served with a homemade biscuit, or veggie chili served with nacho chips. Younger folks, or those young at heart, can feast upon homemade chicken nuggets, with ketchup or plum sauce for dipping. All entrees will be served with a side order of tossed salad with homemade creamy herb or oil and vinegar dressings. For dessert, there will be brownies, lemon squares, and shortbread and sugar cookies. All meals are served with coffee, tea or juice. Prices are $8 for adults and $5 for kids. Proceeds from the HollyBerry MarketPlace will support Oakville families who may otherwise not have a merry Christmas. It will benefit Christmas on Lakeshore, a program run by Kerr Street Ministries, that sees sponsored families receive everything they need for Christmas.
