The park ­ which will be known as South Shell Waterfront Park ­ will link two existing Bronte-area park properties with over three acres of land on the east side of the new Palm Place development. A public waterfront trail, scenic overlooks, plantings to provide habitat for migratory birds, a children's playground and washroom facilities are all expected to be part of the design of the new park. Town staff is planning a public open house to allow residents to comment on the plans for the park's development. Construction on the first elements of the park could begin as early as next year, providing money is allocated in the town's 2008 budget.
