The Gala Ice Show will feature the full spectrum of synchronized skating, from the Oakville Intro-to-Synchro to internationallyranked teams such as Nexxice, world bronze medalists earlier this year. Several other local teams will also be featured. Two shows will be held Sunday, with start times of 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Intro-to-Skate program offers skaters two 10-week programs that provide an introductory opportunity to the sport. This weekend's Ice Gala Show will be the culmination of the skaters' first session. Joining these teams will be the two Oakville Edge pre-juvenile teams and the pre-novice team. Also participating in the show will be the FUSION's senior and adult teams, the Nexxice adult, junior and senior teams, Leaside's festival and competitive novice teams, Burlington's junior festival squad, and East Gwillimbury's novice and junior teams. A final attraction, expected to be one of the highlights of the evening, will be the Dad's Team, titled the "Oakville Edgeless". Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 12. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. The Oakville Ice Expression will offer a bake sale, raffle prizes and silent auction items at the event.
