Assists have been a key part of Matheson's game in her four years at the New Jersey university. She is credited with playing a big role in helping former teammates Esmeralda Negron (2004) and Emily Behncke (2005) win conference player of the year honours. This year, it was Matheson's turn. Despite missing Princeton's first seven games while she represented Canada at the Women's World Cup in China, the White Oaks grad was named the Ivy League women's soccer player of the year. Without Matheson, Princeton struggled. The Tigers were winless in their first five games but upon her return won five straight. In just 10 games, the fourth-year midfielder led Princeton with six goals and seven assists. That pushed her career totals to 26 goals and 26 assists, making her the only player in Princeton history -- on either the men's or women's soccer team -- to record both 20 goals and 20 assists. Matheson led the Ivy League in points per game with 1.9. Her nearest rival was Penn's Jessica Fuccello at 1.53. She also led the league in assists per game. Matheson was also a unanimous selection to the All-Ivy first team for the fourth straight year, becoming just the third player in school history to earn the honour in each year she played. Dimitroff named to All MAC team Oakville's Kimberly Dimitroff was named to the All MidAmerican Conference first team. It was the third year the Kent State Golden Flashes forward has been named to the first team. The Iroquois Ridge graduate was named to the conference second team in her sophomore season. Dimitroff led Kent State with five goals and three assists this season. She also became Kent State's all-time leading goal scorer when she scored her 30th career goal in a 1-0 victory over Toledo.
