What is the best way to lose weight and keep it off permanently? In my practice I often see clients who want a quick fix for permanent weight loss. However, in order to safely lose weight and keep it off, I can't stress enough how important it is to make changes to your eating habits and lifestyle that you can maintain over the long-term. I recommend a safe and steady rate of weight loss of approximately one-half to two pounds per week. Any more than that and you are likely just shedding body water, in addition to losing muscle mass, as well as putting yourself at risk for deficiency of several important nutrients. Here are some tips I recommend to help you lose weight - and keep it off for good: · Eat four to six "mini-meals" throughout the day, rather than two or three larger meals. Eating every three to four hours keeps your metabolism going and helps give you greater control around food by keeping hunger pangs away. · Watch your portion sizes. When dining out, order small or appetizer size dishes when possible. You can also share an entrée with a friend or ask for half to be packed up to take away with you. · Take a daily multivitamin to help supplement any nutritional gaps in your diet · Incorporate 20-30 minutes of physical activity into your daily routine. Exercise will help you burn calories and gain muscle to keep you stronger, leaner and feeling good about yourself. · Keep a food diary. Recording everything (yes, everything) you eat can give you a more honest look at where all of your calories are really coming from. · Safe and easy to use nutritional supplements can also support weight loss by helping to curb your appetite and burn body fat. - News Canada LLBO LUNCH BUFFET $7.99 All You Can Eat 7 Days A Week · 11:30am-2:30pm DINNER BUFFET December 24th ...................................................$11.99 December 25th .................................................. Contrary to the warnings our mother gave us about not ruining our appetite, nutrition experts these days agree that snacking between meals, particularly for kids and provided the snacks are healthy, is good for you. Snacking can keep hunger away, keep your metabolic rate up so you can stay alert, and provide some of the essential nutrients you need for your health. "Healthy snacks can be easy and nutritious," says Carol Dombrow, registered dietitian with the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Health Check program. Try these healthy snacks: · a fruit-and-yogurt smoothie (or low-fat yogurt) · lower-fat cheese with crackers and fruit · whole-grain cereal with dried fruit mixes · air-popped or light microwave popcorn · slices of fruit and cut-up veggies · lower-salt vegetable or tomato juice · rice cakes thinly spread with peanut butter · bagel thins with low-fat dip · low fat milk puddings · hard boiled egg · sunflower seeds. - News Canada EST. 2006 Awesome Menu Selection Fantastic Food Friendly Service Great Atmosphere From all of us at The Stout Monk, we wish you a happy and safe HOLIDAY SEASON 905-849-4944 you've tried the rest now try the best! dine in or take out 497 Pinegrove Rd., Oakville To place an ad in this section call 905-845-3824 PLAN YOUR HOLIDAY PARTY NOW!
