Snow crews worked around the clock The Town of Oakville Roads and Works Operations Department cleared the majority of the roads within 24 hours of the end of Sunday's snowstorm that dumped more than 25 cm of snow in Oakville. The Town's snow removal crews were out in force starting Saturday night in preparation for Sunday's snowstorm and continued to work around the clock until snow removal was completed. "Given the amount of snow fall, we were pleased that our arterial and secondary road network were passable by early Sunday evening and the remaining residential roads were cleared by Monday night," stated Dan Cozzi, Director of Roads and Works Operations in a press release issued by the Town. "All streets are normally cleared within 24 hours after the end of the storm; however heavy snowfalls like this one will sometimes extend this period longer than 24 hours," stated Cozzi in the release. "We do receive lots of calls from the public wondering when their street will be plowed. We try to do the job as fast as possible, but it just takes a little more time during a heavy snowfall." For more information on snow removal progress in your area, call the Town's Snow Removal Information line at 905-815-5999. 120 THOMAS STREET, OAKVILLE 905.842.4200 www.jonathansofoakville.com
