Richter will perform as part of St. Cuthbert's Annual Family Christmas Concert and Pizza Party. The singer/songwriter serves up stories and songs "family style," Richter says, in concerts that are "more fun than a kid should be allowed to have." His songs range from fun, rollicking, bash-around tunes to songs that are very spiritual, but not at all preachy, according to the artist. Richter's songs have found a place on both Christian and secular kids radio programs around the country. It's not often that an artist finds acceptance in both secular and Christian markets, but Richter has succeeded in doing just that. His music has been compared to James Taylor and Phil Keaggy. It offers a tranquil, folk appeal that is soothing to the soul and finds a welcoming audience among parents and children. "The emphasis in my music and in concerts has shifted some, from focusing on just kids, to include parents as well," said Richter. "I'm a dad, I know what a great challenge it is to raise our kids. I really want to encourage parents with my music and in my concerts. "I hope moms and dads (and grandparents, too) come away from my concerts feeling refreshed and inspired in this adventure we call parenting," he added. St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church welcomes all to its annual Family Christmas Concert and Pizza Party on Friday, Dec. 21. Pizza will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is by donation. Suggested gifts are $8 per person or $20 per family.
