Silver for minor bantam AA team The minor bantam AA Rangers won Oakville's other medal at the Richard Bell tournament, settling for silver after a 4-0 loss to Streetsville in the final. Taylor Stewart had two goals for the Rangers, including the winner with 1:02 to go in regulation, and Samuel Jakubaskas notched the team's other marker. Seven more local squads reached the semifinal round before being eliminated: · The minor atom AA Rangers went 4-0 in round-robin play before being upset 3-0 by St. Catharines. · The minor atom A Rangers advanced to the semis with a 2-2 record, but fell 4-3 to Grimsby. Michael Sweeney, Graeme Parker and Jacob Zedor had goals in the losing cause. · The minor atom AE Rangers were 3-0-1 after preliminary-round play, but lost 2-1 to Whitby. Ryan Homer had Oakville's lone goal. · The minor peewee AAA Rangers were 2-1-1 in the early going, but were eliminated with a 2-1 loss to the Mississauga Rebels. Connor Holly scored in the loss. · The minor peewee AA Rangers, 1-2-1 in roundrobin action, fell 2-1 in overtime to the Mississauga North Stars. Joel Matson scored for Oakville. · The minor bantam A Rangers had a 3-1 showing in the round-robin before falling 4-1 to the Hamilton Phantoms. Gavin McLaughlin avoided the shutout for Oakville. · The minor midget AA Rangers rolled through the opening round with a 4-0 record, but were ousted with a 2-1 loss to the Oshawa Minor Generals. David Policelli had the Rangers' goal. Gloucester won the gold, marking the second time the team won a Richard Bell title (minor bantam AA in 2005). Norwegians win minor midget A Both the minor atom AAA and minor midget AE Rangers struggled to 0-4 showings in their divisions. The minor midget A Rangers were also denied advancement in their division, going 1-3. Norway won the minor midget A title, the first time an international squad has won a Richard Bell title, according to several tournament organizers.
