Each year hundreds of Children find themselves in the pediatric ward of the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) and with the help of Stacey Sutherland State Farm in Oakville and numerous local retailers, children throughout the year in the pediatric ward will receive a comforting bear to stay with them at the hospital. This year Stacy Sutherland State Farm kindly donated 100 bears that will be given to these children, to make their stay a little more enjoyable. Sutherland, Agent of Stacey Sutherland State Farm in Oakville is very proud to be part of the Bears that Care program. "As a State Farm Agent, and a proud member of the Oakville community, I am thrilled to be able to contribute to the Bears That Care program!" she says. " I believe that it is so important to give back to our community, and particularly to such a worthwhile cause. Sutherland opened her State Farm Agency in October of last year and has lived and worked in Oakville for the past 18 years. "I have been honoured to participate in the Bears That Care program for the past six years. My team is excited to participate in this year's program and has found this entire experience to be exceptionally rewarding." Sutherland State Farm is an active member in the community. "Our office is so pleased to provide many different services to our community," she says. "At the local elementary schools, we hold 911 Call Simulations for kindergarten children, which teaches them how and when to use 911 to get help for themselves or members of their family. We also hold Bike Rodeos where children can bring their bicycles to school and participate in different obstacle courses and safety stations in order to earn their Bicycle License." The Sutherland State Farm agency also sponsors a community ice rink and a local hockey league.
