Morissette will speak at the CFUW-Oakville's general meeting. A bilingual human resource consultant, Morissette is a major contributor to the field of organization development in Canada. Her field of expertise is leadership development, and since 2004 she has conducted, with colleague Amal Henein, the largest research in Canada in leadership development aimed at answering three fundamental questions: · What are the best ways to develop competent leaders? · How can a country develop a reliable supply of capable leaders? · How to strengthen Canadian leadership? The results form the basis of their book, Made in Canada Leadership: Wisdom from the Nation's Best and Brightest on Leadership Practice and Development (Jossey-Bass, 2007). A website has been developed to promote their research and expand upon best practices in leadership at www.leadershipcanada.com. Morissette has been a faculty member at the Industrial Relations Centre (IRC) of Queen's University since 1992 and has played a key role in developing the new certificate program in organizational development at Queen's. In 2006, she was made a Fellow of the IRC. She is also certified as a professional coach by the International Coach Federation. Morissette has worked in the private, public, and para-public sectors across North America and in Europe, namely in Finland, Sweden, the UK, and France. Besides teaching on a number of Queen's IRC programs including Organization Development Foundations and Leadership Development Morissette is part of the core faculty at the Adler School of Professional Coaching. She is associated with the Centre for Leadership Studies at the University of Guelph and a guest faculty member at Sherbrooke University. Through her consulting practice, Morissette offers services to enhance the performance of organizations, teams and individuals. Through a variety of interventions, Françoise helps leaders to increase their effectiveness and organizations to enhance their leadership capacity.
