The kilts will be worn, and haggis will be cooked at A Wee Celebration, slated for Sunday, Jan. 20 from 1-4 p.m. Tickets cost $7. The celebration includes an afternoon of Scottish refreshments and the poetry of Robbie Burns. The braver of the bunch are invited to try some traditional haggis. On Friday, Jan. 25, the museum will host A Bottle and an Honest Friend. The scotch tasting will run from 7-9 p.m. Tickets cost $50 each and include an evening of fine single malt whisky and the poetry of Robbie Burns. The Oakville Symphony Orchestra will continue its series of mini-concerts for young people in the form of an entertaining and informative presentation by Sharlene Wallace, principal harpist with the Oakville and the Kingston symphony orchestras. Wallace tours extensively across North America giving concerts and master classes, and has recorded several CDs which are often broadcast on the radio.
