Burlington cut the lead in half and the Wings needed a strong defensive effort as Burlington pulled its goalie in the late going and pushed for the tying goal. The Wings went 3-0 in the round-robin, outscoring their opponents 30-0, before posting a 5-1 win in the semifinals. Callum Challis allowed just two goals in five games, including three shutouts.
