Now is your chance. Public input is being sought as part of the 2008 budget process, which begins with the presentation of the the Town's 2008 capital budget and 10-year financial forecast to the Budget Committee on Monday, Jan. 28. "The Town is facing many tough budget decisions," Oakville Mayor Rob Burton stated in a press release. "We're playing catchup from years past, as well as dealing with growth, aging infrastructure and demands for new programs and services. We're committed to finding solutions that keep us focused on the Town's strategic priorities." The Budget Committee will meet several times over the coming weeks to receive citizen input and debate 2008 funding decisions. The Budget Committee will consider all submissions, whether in person, in writing, or by e-mail as part of its budget deliberations. Plus, for those who cannot attend the meetings in person, we will be broadcasting the meetings over the internet via Oakville's Town TV."
