www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday January 25, 2008 - 21 Clerk calls robber's bluff Halton Regional Police are investigating a Wednesday night robbery at a Hasty Market Store in north Oakville. Shortly after 11 p.m. a man walked into the 1011 Upper Middle Rd store and confronted the lone employee. The man threatened the store employee, stating he had a knife. The store employee, however, was not threatened by the man's words and stated he had a knife as well. The man asked for a pack of cigarettes which the employee turned over. When a witness walked into the store, the man fled the store in a south direction. The employee and witness were not injured during the robbery. The Halton Regional Police Canine Unit searched the area without success. The suspect is described as white, 5foot-8, 30 years old, clean shaven with dark curly hair and dark eyes. He wore a black leather jacket with blue jeans. The Halton Regional Police Service is continuing to investigate this incident. This event won't be a presentation, but rather a question session, for all those questions about sex that weren't answered in health class. Designed for youths aged 14 to 19, Sexapoloza will be held from 5-6 p.m. at the youth centre located at 177 Cross Ave., Unit 3. Youths will take the lead by asking questions on anything from healthy, fun sexual experiences and sexually-transmitted diseases to contraception. Youth in Action! is sponsored by the Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services of Halton (SAVIS) in partnership with The Oakville Youth Development Centre, Academy of Kempo Martial Arts, Bellyup Bellydance Studio and Aromatic Notions.
