Atom B Hornets return to winning form After an uncharacteristic loss, the Oakville BMO Financial Group atom B Hornets bounced back with two convincing wins in recent Lower Lakes Female Hockey League play. The Hornets' loss came at the hands of the Stoney Creek Sabres, Oakville's first defeat since December tournament play and the first time it had been blanked all year. Stoney Creek's goal came on a fluke bounce off a Hornets player. The following day, Oakville rebounded to easily down Flamborough 5-1. Christina Scanlon and MacKenzie Sutherland scored two goals each and Sydney Davison added a single. Saturday, the Hornets traveled to the Gretzky Sportsplex in Brantford and routed the Ice Cats 9-0, despite playing without high-scoring centre Scanlon and two defencemen. Maddie Sisokin led the way with a hat trick and Kai Palo potted a pair. Rounding out the scoring were Tegan Duncan, Alex Daniel, Sydney Davison and Taylor Davison. Lia Widell earned the shutout.
