4- The Oakville Beaver Weekend, Saturday February 9, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com Jailbirds do their best to make their bail By Angela Blackburn OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF RON KUZYK / OAKVILLE BEAVER BUSTED: Oakville's Who Who gave it their best shot during Friday's Jail-N-Bail fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, Oakville Unit held at Oakville Place. Here, from left, Ward 1 Councillor Ralph `The Tormentor' Robinson, Ward 2 Councillor Cathy `The Refinisher `Duddeck, Oakville MPP Kevin `The Green Machine' Flynn, Ward 5 Councillor Jeff `The Producer' Knoll and Dave `The Scoop' Harvey, general manager of Metroland's Halton Division. ~ Advertorial ~ "You're scum," Halton Regional Police Constable Rob Partridge told Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn. "A TV and an armchair would be nice," Flynn was heard to comment after yelling "Get me out of here." Once inside the makeshift jail cell, the jailbirds had a chair, coffee and a phone book to go about the business of raising their bail. They appeared back before the judge to either be turned loose again on Oakville or have their bail raised again -- as happened to Metroland's Halton Division and Oakville Beaver General Manager Dave `The Scoop' Harvey, who'd been busted on the charge of overuse of adjectives. Their crimes were humourous, but they were serious about raising bail.
