The Rangers eliminated Hespeler last round (not all scores were available). Bantam AE quarter-final competition saw the Rangers defeat Southpoint 4-0, 3-2, 2-2, 11-0. They will clash with Windsor in the semifinals. Finally, the minor midget A Rangers concluded their quarterfinal series against Woolwich on Sunday with a 2-1 win, claiming the total-points series 7-3. Oakville lost the opening game 3-2 in overtime, won the second game 2-1 in OT, tied the third contest 2-2 and defeated Woolwich 4-0 in Game 4. The novice AA, minor peewee A, peewee AE, bantam AA and minor midget AE Rangers were all eliminated in the quarter-finals. Local AAA teams are not scheduled to begin their playdowns until next month. REPHOCKEY Rangers squads won their quarter-final series in novice A, minor atom AA, atom A, atom AA, atom AE (additional entry), peewee AA, bantam A, bantam AE and minor midget A competition. The novice A Rangers began their semifinal series against Hespeler on Monday, earning a 5-5 draw. They defeated Guelph 7-0, 42 and 4-0 in the quarter-finals. The minor atom AA Rangers were scheduled to open their semifinal series with Burlington yesterday (Tuesday) and will play Game 2 tomorrow (Thursday) in Burlington. Oakville swept Windsor last round by scores of 6-0, 3-2 (overtime) and 9-1. In atom A play, the Rangers easily ousted Burlington in the quarterfinals by scores of 6-0, 9-4 and 8-0. Their semifinal opponent had yet to be determined as of yesterday. The atom AA Rangers got off on the right foot in their semifinal series against Brampton Youth, winning Monday's opener 2-1. Oakville, which will visit Brampton for Game 2 Friday, beat Orangeville PEEWEE CHAMPS: The Oakville White Wings won the inaugural Peewee Invitational Exhibition Series tournament recently in Alliston. Oakville defeated Port Credit #71 4-1 and Cooksville 1-0 while losing to Port Credit #72 Storm 2-0 in the preliminary round, then edged Port Credit #72 1-0 in the gold-medal game. Benjamin Dinadis, Mitchell Henstock, Kyle Errygers and Grant Burton were player-of-the-game-award winners in the tournament. Blakelock, Nelson decide girls' hockey title tomorrow The Halton high school girls' hockey championship will be decided tomorrow (Thursday) when the T.A. Blakelock Tigers and Nelson Lords meet at Oakville Arena, a 3 p.m. start. The contest will be the second of the two-game final series. The teams tied 1-1 in the series opener yesterday (Tuesday). Hilary Jutras scored for Blakelock in the draw, with assists going to Hayleigh Cudmore and Genevieve Panabaker. Nelson tied it early in the third as Jaclyn Fox came out of the penalty box, took a breakaway pass from Taylor Gailey and beat Tigers netminder Brittany Aldworth. Aldworth preserved the tie with several stops in the final seconds.
