www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday March 5, 2008 - 27 The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday March 3, 2004 - C7 Discover the unique ambiance and extraordinary cuisine of Tin Cup If it is true that men are from Mars and women from Venus, then the Tin Cup is a planetary middle ground where both genders equally revel in its gender pleasing menu, ambiance and entertainment. It has décor that is out of the pages of a designer magazine suede fabric, dark wood, decorative stone, fresh flowers in the washroom and plenty of plasma screen televisions (no less than 42-inches wide right up to a whopping 63-inch screen), to capture the rapt attention of all sports fans. Tin Cup fuses John Stratigeas' 29 years of experience in the restaurant business with Brian Jones' design sense, the audio-visual expertise of partners Rich and Dan Thompson, who also own Oakville Sight and Sound, and the fresh new culinary innovations of certified chefs Paola Iaboni and Richard Worton. After completely renovating the vacated corner space of the strip mall at Third Line and North Service Road, Tin Cup opened Dec. 12. Marrying the well-loved classic sports bar scene with an upscale one, Tin Cup is the one place men and women agree on when talk turns to making dinner plans or heading out on the town. And that was the concept behind Stratigeas' goal to create a place that would appeal as much to women over 30 as it does to men in the same age bracket. It's a place to feel as comfortable enjoying lunch for one, as it is special for a couple's night out, and as accommodating as dinner for a crowd. Chefs Iaboni and Worton collaborate on some spectacular features that will leave your mouth watering with daily pasta, meat and vegetable specials, as well as the creative fare on Tin Cup's regular menu. "I like to put together unlikely ingredients that wouldn't normally be on a sports bar menu," said Iaboni. The barbequed nachos appeal to the male crowd and the chicken, apple and Brie sandwich is a popular favourite among the female guests. The happy medium on the menu is replicated on the entertainment front. Tin Cup airs all of the major sports events and also gives live entertainment its due every weekend.
