Getting in shape at home or in the office It is always more cost effective to join a fitness facility where a variety of commercial items are available for a fraction of the cost, rather than purchasing your own equipment. However, for some people and corporations, factors such as time, accessibility, and physical restrictions can make it difficult to commit to a fitness facility. So, with the best of intentions many buy their own equipment only to find it is gathering dust. Why does this happen? Mostly, it is because they have bought the wrong items and don't know how they should be using them based on their physical abilities and goals. It is important to create a personal space that is conducive to exercise. Most will set up in the same area as the furnace without any thought as to how this is affecting them psychologically. It becomes a very unpleasant process instead of a rewarding experience. Home and Corporate Fitness Design will recommend and supply the proper equipment, construct a personal area if required, where you will look forward to spending time and getting in shape. They will put together a safe and effective fitness program for each individual who will be exercising from a professional perspective based on 12 years of experience. They are able to handle any age or physical restriction because they are kinesiology based. Whether you are a busy corporate executive, a time restricted stay-at-home Mom, a person with physical limitations or even a child who needs to exercise, this is the company to call. The owners own and operate a very successful fitness facility, however, they are aware that there is a need to give those who would prefer to exercise in the office or at home professional counseling that is required to ensure time and money is not wasted. A New Way of Finding More Personal Time! Oakville Museum staff overwhelmed by community's enthusiasm Last year, the Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate launched an exhibition called "Old, New, Borrowed and Blue: 150 Years of Wedding Fashions" in celebration of Oakville's 150th Anniversary. When news hit the street that the museum was seeking local wedding dresses, memorabilia and stories, the phones rang off the hook with enthusiastic offers. So overwhelming was the support, that the exhibition was expanded and extended to accommodate the many wonderful dresses and memories from Oakville brides. The excellent attendance and incredibly positive response was a reminder to museum staff of the importance of involving the community in the work of the museum. After all, it is your museum, telling your stories. This year, the exhibition concept is different; however, the museum's need for community involvement remains the same. "From Time to Time: Oakville 1928 & 2008" will contrast the daily lives of youth living in the Oakville of 80 years ago, and the Oakville of today. The exhibition will invite visitors to consider the concepts of time and history by taking an intimate peak at the two eras through the eyes of a pair of representative "young people" from each time period. These "young people" will be composites, created from the stories and artifacts collected in our community. The Oakville Museum seeks Memories and Memorabilia from the 1920s! As part of our exciting new 2008 exhibit, we are asking for Community support. If you have any 1920s Oakville stories or objects to loan please give us a call!
