Munn's United Church, Church of the Incarnation and Amnesty Oakville will be cohosting their sixth annual fundraiser on Saturday, March 29 at 6 p.m. The dinner will be held at Church of the Incarnation, located at the corner of Dorval and Old Abbey Lane, across from the entrance to the Glen Abbey Golf and Country Club. Each year, people around the world gather to share a meal and work toward the elimination of landmines through the work of Adopt-a-Minefield and the Canadian Landmine Foundation. This year organizers will also turn off the lights and serve dessert by candlelight as the participants observe Earth Hour at 8 p.m. Afghan food will be featured. Guest speaker will be Verna Andrews, representing the Canadian Landmine Foundation. Money raised by the dinner last year was used to support landmine clearance in Bosnia. This year, it will be used to train mine detection dogs. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $6 for children under 10. Tickets may be ordered through Munn's church office at 905-2578434.
