Munn's United Church, Church of the Incarnation and Amnesty Oakville are co-hosting their sixth annual fundraiser Saturday at 6 p.m. The dinner will be held at Church of the Incarnation, located at the corner of Dorval and Old Abbey Lane. Each year, people around the world gather to share a meal and work toward the elimination of landmines through the work of Adopt-aMinefield and the Canadian Landmine Foundation. This year, organizers will turn off the lights and serve dessert by candlelight for Earth Hour at 8 p.m. The event will feature Afghan food and speaker will be Verna Andrews, of the Canadian Landmine Foundation. Money raised last year supported landmine clearance in Bosnia. This year, it will be used to train mine detection dogs in honour of five extraordinary Canadians.
