www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday March 28, 2008 - 41 Carousel festival continues The Carousel of Nations Multicultural Festival, which opened March 20, continues until next week at Town Hall, from 6:30 8 p.m. Cultural presentations representing countries all over the map are continuing in Oakville through Friday, April 4 thanks to the the Carousel of Nations Multicultural Association. Visual arts presentations representing various cultures are being held at Town Hall, located at 1225 Trafalgar Rd., from Monday Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The Carousel of Nations Multicultural Association (CNMA) debuted in 1999 with the hosting of the Carousel of Nations Multicultural Festival in Oakville. The festival is a product of collaboration between the CNMA and local ethnocultural groups, as well as with professional and amateur multicultural artists from within and outside of the region. Sponsors have included: Ontario Trillium Foundation, The Regional Municipality of Halton, Halton Regional Police Service, Town of Oakville, Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. The art exhibition will showcase visual art works from the cultural community groups involved in the Carousel. The aim of this exhibition is to provide the general public with increased exposure to diverse arts, increase multicultural arts and cultural activities in the community, integrate the artists and their arts into community life in Oakville, and increase the awareness of the annual Carousel of Nations festival.
