A. Blakelock High School flies at half mast following the death of a 16-year-old student, who never recovered from the head injuries suffered during a fight outside an Oakville house party. A T.A. Blakelock High School student has died of severe head injuries inflicted during an assault outside an Oakville house party on Saturday, March 29. The 16-year-old boy, whose name has not yet been officially released, died at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children on Tuesday, where he had been fighting for his life since the day after the incident. "It's a very sad day at Blakelock, and it will be for the foreseeable future," said Marnie Denton, Halton District School Board Communications Manager. "The school is grieving, the students are sad, the staff are sad." The lead up to the event began when a 15-year-old arrived uninvited at a chaperoned house party in Oakville's west end. The 15-year-old allegedly tried to start a fight with the victim and was kicked out of the party, but instead of leaving, police say he decided to wait outside. When the Blakelock student emerged from the party, a brief tussle occurred during which the victim fell to the ground and struck his head on a driveway curb. Other partygoers separated the two teens.
