34 - The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday May 21, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com Buzz rally avoids loss to cellar-dwelling Tomahawks The long weekend was almost a really long one for the Oakville Buzz. After spotting the lowly Mississauga Tomahawks an early 3-0 advantage, the Buzz rallied for an 8-6 victory in Ontario Lacrosse Association junior B action Friday at Glen Abbey Recreation Centre. The victory improved Oakville's record to 6-1, while the Tomahawks are a South East Division-worst 1-10. Brad Gillies had six points and Josh Ruys scored three times to pace the Buzz. Spencer Gallant contributed four assists and Alex Kruse added three helpers. Dylan Gilbert (two), Gillies (two) and Eric Crepinsek rounded out the Oakville scoring. Cam Watts recorded the victory in goal. Having beaten Mississauga in its last two games, Oakville faces much stiffer competition in upcoming action. The Buzz visited the 6-1 Newmarket Saints last night (Tuesday), and will host the division-leading Halton Hills Bulldogs SPORTSBRIEFS (7-1) Friday at Glen Abbey (an 8 p.m. start). Oakville will also be home to the 7-2 Mimico Mountaineers Sunday for a 2 p.m. contest.
