DEREK WOOLLAM / OAKVILLE BEAVER FOR A GOOD CAUSE: More than 300 Halton residents hit the trails at Bronte Creek Provincial Park on May 19 to raise more than $60,000 for people living with ALS at the 3rd annual Halton WALK for ALS. Organizers anticipate that supporters who were deterred by the cold weather will still contribute and expect to top last year's total of $85,000. The Halton WALK for ALS has quickly proven one of the most successful in the province. It has raised approximately $200,000 since it began in 2006. Walk co-ordinators Andrea Rende and Lindsay Robertson, who were both 15 when their fathers were diagnosed with ALS, are pleased with the results.
