"The grand total is in....$45,147! Our family is just so overwhelmed by the love and generosity of the community," said Jack's mom Jodi Yeilding. "Jack had a great time and spent the day exploring the fire truck, pouring lemonade, popping the lemon burst balloons, playing carnival games, and watching the fire show. I found the day very emotional, particularly Pinball Clemon's inspirational message," said Jodi. The lemonade stand fundraising event was held at Jack's home at 2394 Sandstone Dr. And it was jam packed with excitement. There was a breakfast, pony rides, a Home Depot Kids Workshop, fire truck, magic shows, barbecue, Kids Care station and a visit from special guests including Ontario's Lieutenant Governor David Onley and Pinball Clemons. Jack has a severe form of epilepsy that is highly resistant to medication and he is a frequent patient at SickKids. Last year, Jack had the idea to raise some pocket change for his friends at the hospital by holding a lemonade stand at his house. He hoped to raise $1,000, but with incredible community support, raised $14,000. His efforts support the Kids Believe in SickKids campaign. His success has also earned him a Build A Bear Workshop Huggable Heroes 2008 Award -- given to a handful of children internationally for such efforts. The Yeildings have received a grand prize notification, which means they will travel to an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on July 8, where Jack will be presented with $2,500 towards the Jack's Lemonade Fund at SickKids and a $7,500 educational scholarship.
